KEEPING CLIENTS SAFE DURING COVID - 19

  • Times between appointments will be extended up to an hour as a minimum to enable a thorough cleaning/disinfection of the treatment room, massage couch and any premises used by client.

  • In August only essential services such as deep tissue massage/sports massage/dry needling will be offered, suggesting to book only if there is an issue of pain and discomfort in the soft tissues. Treatment times will be reduced up to an hour to minimise time of close contact. More treatment options to be added from September at specific times, if it is safe to do so.

  • When booking an appointment, client will be asked to attend on their own, where possible, to minimise visitors.

  • COVID-19 related screening questions will be asked of clients ahead of their appointment, including:

    – Have you had the recent onset of a new continuous cough?
    – Do you have a high temperature?
    – Have you noticed a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell?

If the client has any of these symptoms, however mild, they should stay at home and reschedule their appointment. Last minute cancellations will be accepted with no extra charge.

  • Before the treatment, clients will be asked to complete and sign a health assessment questionnaire.

  • Clients will be asked if they wanted to volunteer for NHS Test & Trace services by giving the information such as full name and contact number, however, they can choose to opt out if wish to do so.

  • Clients will be encouraged to pay for their treatments by debit/credit card or online, however, cash will be accepted.

  • Hand wash / sanitising facilities will be available.

Face coverings

  • A massage therapist will be wearing a face mask during the treatment and a clear vizor where necessarily.

  • Wearing a face covering is required by law when travelling as a passenger on public transport in England and in a number of indoor premises. From 8 August, face coverings are mandatory for customers visiting: nail, beauty and hair salons; barbers; massage premises; tattoo and piercing parlours (GOV's guidance).

  • When clients are not having a treatment, both, the therapist and the client will maintain social distancing (2m, or 1m with risk mitigation where 2m is not possible) and will be expected to wear a face covering.

  • During the massage treatment, which is considered to be working in close proximity to the client, the therapist will be wearing a face mask. Client won't be expected to wear the face covering at the time when treatment requires facing down (away from therapist); face coverings to be worn when facing up during the treatment or treating the face area.

  • Disposable face masks will be available for the clients at no extra costs.

  • The requirements mentioned above will be reviewed regularly should Government’s guidance of “Working safely during coronavirus (COVID-19)” be updated.
